Smyrnability

Greek Folk Music

Smyrnability is a Greek folk band based in Belgium, embracing a vibrant and authentic musical style. Formed by four Greek musicians from Antwerp and Brussels, the ensemble brings to life rebetiko — often called the “Greek blues” — along with traditional tunes from Anatolia, Constantinople, the Smyrna coast, and the Aegean islands.

With instruments like the santur, bouzouki, violin, baglamas, and guitar, Smyrnability creates a lively and heartfelt atmosphere, inviting audiences to dance, feel, and connect. The band is passionate about keeping this rich musical heritage alive — not only for the next generations of Greeks abroad but also for the many non-Greeks who share a love for this timeless sound.
