• Duo Gaia  Ancient Greek

Friends and collaborators Marilena Chrysochoidi (vocals) and Giorgos Tabakis (ancient Greek lyre) present their new project titled Duo Gaia, which focuses on the revival and performance of ancient Greek songs, based on the work of the renowned composer and researcher Nikos Xanthoulis.

Original melodies of exceptional beauty from ancient Greece, discovered and decoded, are accompanied by the sound of the lyre – the "national" instrument of the Greeks of the 5th century BC. (percussions opt.)

Experience an engaging concert featuring Marilena Chrysochoidi (vocals) and Orfeas Demis (piano), a dynamic duo specializing in voice and piano performances. This talented pair offers two distinct repertoires for different concert styles. One repertoire highlights the soft popular songs of the Greek new age wave, adding a lively and contemporary touch to their performances. The other repertoire delves into the timeless allure of operettas and the nostalgic melodies of classic Athenian tunes, showcasing a different aspect of Greek music's rich history. Each concert is tailored to highlight these unique musical traditions, providing audiences with a versatile and captivating experience. (violin/string duo/trio/quartet opt.)
